Collection: David E. Allen

Born and raised in Lincoln Nebraska,
David found positive influences early on.
The encouragement from teachers,
colleagues and family to pursue his art never
truly left him. He began a career in Food
Management while still in Lincoln. But a
move to Southern California and the
opportunity to work for a graphics and
printing company in 1987, reopened
his strong interest in the arts.
David started his own company, Postcards & Cards Unlimited using his own
beautiful photography. His business pursuits renewed his interest and desire to
paint again. He began taking Plein Air Painting Workshops from Debra Huse,
Kenn Backhaus, Jim Wodark and other accomplished landscape painters. For
the past 26 years David has continued to operate a successful business, while
immersing himself in the California Impressionists Environment.

As a landscape oil painter, David paints in an impressionistic style. Captur-
ing the elusive light, keeping his paintings fresh with thick paint and color, he

makes each painting unique and exciting. His volunteerism with art organiza-
tions, galleries and events keep him active and evolved in the local art

communtiy.
